Poughkeepsie Journal – December 5, 1810

Ten Dollars Reward. 
RANAWAY from the subscriber on
Wednesday morning last a black man
named AMOS, about twenty one years of
age, five feet nine or ten inches high, strong
built and pretty black, had on when he went
away a pair of homespun striped tow trow-
sers, vest and a black hat. Said Amos was 
brought up by Jacob Everson Esq [late] 
of Pleasant Valley, deceased, and since his
death has been owned by Mr. Lewis of [Goshen,]
Chaucey Weeks of Fishkill of whom the sub-
scriber purchased him. Said Amos [is very]
fond of singing and dancing. The above re-
ward and all reasonable charges will [be paid]
to any person who will apprehend said A-
mos and return him to the subscriber [or se-]
cure him in any gaol in this [state and give]
information [where he can be found]
