Know all men by these presents that I
Stephen Hendrickson of the Town of Poughkeepsie in the County
of Dutchess and State of New York. Do hereby certify and make known
that I have this day set free and Manumitted my Female slave
Suckey Jackson agreeably to an Act of the Legislature of this
State in such case made and provided — And I do hereby
for myself and my Legal representatives and very of
them, Absolutely fully and freely renounce all right of
property that I have before had in the said Suckey Jackson
And do forever Release and discharge her from all kind of
dependance as a slave to me or any person who may hereafter
claim under me — In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal at Poughkeepsie in the
twenty fifth day of March. In the year one thousand
eight hundred and eights —
