ALBANY, January 5.
The following very melancholy acci-
dent, we are informed, happened at Sa-
ratoga on New-year's day: --
Two whitemen, five negroes and three
negro wenches, were crossing the North-
river in a sleigh, when the ice of a sud-
den gave way -- the sleigh and horses
went down and every foul drowned ex-
cept one negro man.
