Country Journal – July 18, 1787

Ten Dollars Reward. 
RUN-AWAY from the subscriber
in New-Paltz in Ulster county,
on the 30th of last month, a Negro
Man named Tom, 22 years of age,
about five feet 6 or 7 inches high, crook-
ed legs and large feet, he is of a very dark
black, smooth faced ; he took with him
two suits of clothes, in which is a broad
cloth coat of a reddish brown, and one
coat and jacket of a grey cloud, home
made. He went off in company with
another Negro named Caesar, of a yel-
lowish color, belonging to Mr. David
Ostrander, of New-Marlborough pre-
cinct in said county. Whoever takes
up the first mentioned negro, and secures
him, so that his master may get him
again, shall receive the above reward,
and reasonable charges, from
ABRAHAM LEFEVER.
