Debogart. The wife of Cornelius Vandebogart, taken
Upon oath before us the 10th Feb.y 1809 – Says she
Is near twenty six years of age. She was married
To Cornelius Van Debogart the 25 Feby 1798 her hus-
band is lately enlisted as a soldier in the army
Of the United States. He marched from Poughkeepsie
The 8 Feb inst. To join his regiment to the Northward
And has left the deponent and family in a state
Of indigence + want – The family consists of Eliza
Gladd an illegitimate child of Lydia Gladd aged
Nine years the 25th Decr last. The remaining part of
The family besides the deponent is Myndert aged
Seven year the 12th Jan.y Inst. Nancy will be /six/ five year
Old the 11th March next. Sally will be three years old
The 21 June next + Robert will be a year old the
1st April next. Her husband hired a cellar Kitchen in
which they dwell of Tunis Van Bunschoten + agreed to
Pay &6–50 from November to May next_ The deponent
Has in possession some common bedding 5 chairs 1
Pot. Teakettle.^frying pan, Chest, some crockery ware, wash
Tub, all which is claimed by Richard Everitt & others
She has no provisions of any kind, & very little firewood
She craves assistance from the town, her husband ha-
-ving left her no money or Other property to support
