1 Regular meeting , April 4th 1808
Resolved that it is the duty of the over
-seers of the poor to examine the town
clerks books respecting black children
abandoned by their masters or mistresses
and report the same to this board from
time to time that order may be taken thereon
adjourned to the first
Monday in June next…

Peter Kipp represents the case of Jenny
Brown, says she came to his house the
17th May last sick and destitute of any
means of subsistence, all which he made
known to the overseers, and now applies to
know what compensation he is to be allow
ed for her support
